RIP - not a great age these days either.
Loved her in OHMSS as the one and only Mrs Bond plus The Avengers.
One of the best set of pins in the business.

Very sad news. I'm looking forward to seeing her in the new All Creatures Great and Small - I hope she's done more than one episode. I never saw her in The Avengers until the C4 repeats in the 80s, but I did enjoy OHMSS when first saw it in the late 70s and still love to watching it. Watching The Avengers on blu ray I can appreciate that she is a classy actress and on Game of Thrones she almost stole every scene she was in. A nice photo tribute can be found here: flashbak.com/fabulous-photographs-of-dame-diana-rigg-414873/R.I.P.

Pure class, what else can one say? I would only add that, of her recent work, I enjoyed her scenes in Detectorists giving McKenzie Crook a hard time.

I just heard this on the news here in America. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service and a more recent role were mention but nothing about The Avengers. Unbelievably stupid! She was a very fine actress.
Rest In Peace

Just heard the news. So sad. Been watching repeats on ITV4 of The Avengers. Talented, beautiful and always came across as a really good person.
Genuinely gutted.
R.I.P. Diana. God bless you.

Just heard the news. So sad. Been watching repeats on ITV4 of The Avengers. Talented, beautiful and always came across as a really good person. Just heard an excerpt on the radio where an interviewer was trying to suggest her Avengers' outfits were on the masculine side. She was having none of it, and gave a thoughtful and polite response to the effect that question was based on a false premise. Don't think there's many actresses who could show that kind of poise when faced with such an impertinent query.

So sad to hear of the passing of Dame Diana Rigg. She was great on OHMSS and I remember she starred alongside Vincent Price in Theatre of Blood. She was a beautiful talented actress.

Gorgeous and outstanding in the Avengers. Really quite surprised to hear she is gone today at 82. She was so active in recent years, but then read she was seriously ill since March.
Was good to see her with her daughter in the Detectorists in recent years.
Less than 6 months after Honor Blackman passed away as well.

Yes genuine national treasure category and from what I've read despite being a proper "ac-tor" didn't take herself too seriously - she once published a compilation of her bad theatre reviews called "No Turn Unstoned", and when she nearly died 3 years ago she said afterwards "God said "send the old bag back down"" . Plus she was an early campaigner for equal pay when she threatened to leave 'The Avengers' after finding out the cameramen were getting paid more than her. Classy

I met her a couple of times and she was absolutely fine. In recent years she was more than happy to talk about The Avengers. I’m sure the fact that Brian Clemens had recently passed away around the time she started talking about the series again was purely coincidental. I wish I could find a transcript of the letter she sent to the Avengers 50th Celebration event at Chichester which was read out - I can’t remember the full details but it wasn’t very complimentary and Clemens was visibly uncomfortable in his seat as it was being read.

Some of the posted comments reminded me of a story she seemed to enjoy telling about her short lived American sitcom. When she arrived at the airport the network sent a top of the line limousine to pick her up. After the show quickly failed, the network sent her back to the airport in a beat up old car..
A classy lady that obviously didn’t take herself too seriously.

RIP Dame Diana. A Game of Thrones actress, had the strength to film her scenes for the show and was humble not to take the fame for it. She deserves all the honours she can get.
