Appeared in an epsiode of the Professionals, though cannot remember off the top of my head which one, but sure he played a CI5 operative, who helped Doyle find someone.
Chariots of Fire is one of my favourite films and remember him well from it.
RIP Ben

I remember him in Chariots of Fire, and he seemed to have a busy career afterwards in character roles. He was really good as Rudolf Hess in a drama about the Nuremberg trials that was on a few years back. Appears to have been a nice chap too by all accounts, well liked by those who worked with him.

Am I the only person who's never seen Chariots of Fire?
Obviously a very good actor.
R.I.P. Ben.

When I went to see The Shadows in 1981, they closed the show (unusually) with the theme to Chariots of Fire. This is the closest I've been to seeing the film!
I think, when you look at him, Ben Cross had that old-fashioned, classic look, that made him perfect for things like Chariots of Fire, The Far Pavilions and the Flame Trees of Thika, The Citadel, etc...
Mind you, he also played Sarek in Star Trek, so clearly he had range. A great actor from what I recall and I shall definitely watch 'Black Out' again this year.

Big fan of C of F where his performance was first rate. I enjoyed his turn in The Professionals too and it's a pity he didn't appear in more episodes in the way Steve Alder's "Murphy" did.
RIP Sir

Chariots Of Fire is an excellent film. Must have a rewatch soon. Alice Krige looks stunning in it.
