Well a name you would always see as (most) of the good BBC comdies credits rolled at the end and a lot of them were directed/Produced by Sydney Lotterby Porridge, Yes Minister, Some Mothers do ave em, Open all Hours ! AHH I can see the date in Roman Numerals now with directed by Sydney Lotterby above it.....at the end of every great comedy show www.BBC.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-53594082

What a roll call of credits to have and some legcy to leave behind and was very modest about it.

Yes that's a very impressive list and some of my favourite programmes. The impression I get from a lot of the writers/producers/directors of the day is that they had no idea how good the programmes were and that what they were working on would become all-time classics; maybe they all thought the quality would always be that high? A true golden age of television. An impressive life and a long one too
