Jesus, just read this. I'm sorry to hear that....hadnt known he was that ill, remember him posting not too long ago. I guess him being your twin makes it even harder.
Our condolences for you and all of your family... Our thoughts are with you :-(

jno - I am so sorry to hear about your loss.
I knew thecraftyleek from his posts on this forum, which were always likely to be interesting. I was aware he was related to you, but I did not realise he was your twin brother.

I would like to send my condolences to you jno and your family. Apologies as I have only seen this thread now. I was writing something silly on a thread and then looked up someone else's earlier response and saw this. We get caught up in so many little things in life and then something momentous puts the importance of family and connections into perspective.
It must be so hard to deal with this loss. I am sure you have many stories and memories of your brother. I can't understand how hard it must be to lose a twin sibling but I know when I have lost family that I felt a need to suddenly print photos of them and include more reminders of them in my life.
It helped me somehow to have more visual reminders around my house, sad but still made me smile to see a photo there. I don't know, maybe that is a response to the fact that we have so little control to what happens in our lives. A hug sent from Australia to you. x

1st June - 'Donate for David'thecraftyleek's Charity DayToday is the anniversary of the passing of fellow forum member thecraftyleek, my twin brother David. He passed away on 1st June 2020 at the age of 46. I hate asking people for money on this forum, but I have decided to dedicate 1st June to try and raise as much as possible for the charitable organisation that helped him and have helped so many other people with when they need it most, Macmillan Cancer Support. Something good has to come out of something bad. Cancer affects so many people in so many different ways and the work and good will done at Macmillan Cancer Support is beyond any definition I might have of praiseworthy. I cannot put into words what a great bunch of folks they are and why we should be supporting those that support others. If you're feeling charitable today, I'd ask you kindly to give anything you can to help out - if not to this charity, but to any charitable organisation you feel strongly about. There are many people out there that need your help and charities cannot survive without a little financial support now and again and I know thecraftyleek would be 200% behind this. If you have a favourite charity, why not give them something today? donate.minder.orgwww.macmillan.org.uk/donateThanks.

Very glad to have just made a donation in memory of a great friend.
As you say jno you can do something to turn something sad like this into something positive, and help others while remembering David.

I'll donate later, I hate to say. Someone else has quickly pinched what I have but I'll keep note of that charity and donate when I have the funds to do so. I'll be better prepared next year, to give.

The 1st of June - it is exactly 2 years today since the passing of thecraftyleek, I would like this day to be a reminder that we can all donate a little to cancer research if we want to. Even if it is a quid, it will help. I have just donated 50 sovs myself. donate.minder.orgThank you.
