The writer and director passed away in Los Angeles a few days ago. Maybe not a name you would immediately recognise, however he worked on two of my favourite shows in Man In A Suitcase and Minder. For the former, he wrote arguably two of the best episodes in Brainwash and Which Way Did He Go, McGill? and for the latter, he directed Come In T-64, and Back In Good Old England amongst others, as well as Minder On The Orient Express. He also worked on The Professionals (Everest Was Also Conquered), Dempsey And Makepeace, Target, Hammer House of Horror and Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. Obviously, a very talented man with a CV like that. RIP.

On ITV4 the other day they showed a documentary 'Brian Moore meets' featuring Niki Lauda from 1979, broadcast in early 1980. I was surprised to see Francis Megahy as one of the two directors - guess he truly was someone who worked in very diverse genres
