That's a shame. I believe she had been unwell for some time. I sometimes watched The Gentle Touch back in the day, and often watched C.A.T.S. Eyes.

Sad to hear this news.
I will always remember her best for Gentle Touch on a Friday night after Boys Brigade.
She was a fine looking woman too.
RIP Jill

Suffered with Alzheimer's disease for the last ten years. Very cruel for her and her family as their statement makes clear. Fond memories of her in The Gentle Touch. I like the story Lynda La Plante told about them both corpsing at the rubbish dialogue in one script.

That's sad news. I'm watching episodes of 'Rooms' on TalkingPictures at the moment and JG is a regular cast member.
RIP.

Very sad to hear although I knew she had been unwell for many years, I hadn't realised she was 83 I thought she was younger. I don't think The Gentle Touch would have been as successful if they had cast a different actress, she made Maggie Forbes very likeable and believable. From what I've read Jill was a very kind lady in real life, actor Jake Wood spoke fondly of her as reported on the BBC here and Jakes tweet (with The Gentle Touch photograph) here. RIP

RIP She was, our own NickP mentioned to me what a nice person she was. Well worth a read: minder.proboards.com/post/115854/thread

RIP Jill Gascoine, she was in one of my favourite films BASKETball. Silly movie maybe but one great example where you could clearly tell she cared about those who've acted in it.

Sad to hear of the death of Jill Gascoine. She was great in The Gentle Touch and C.A.T.S eyes. Though uncredited she was one of the sixth form girls in Pure Hell of St Trinians.

Watched her in a London Theater when she played the lead in 42nd Street, back in the late 1980s.
