Probably not a name well known to most but I’m sure you will have seen him crop up in plenty of things over the years, not least as the police Inspector in ‘A Tethered Goat’. He was also very recognisable in You Only Live Twice, Man In A Suitcase, The Prisoner and UFO where he played the Russian base commander in ‘The Responsibility Seat’. As mentioned in the obituary, he had an uncredited role in Star Wars for which, like many at the time, he elected to receive a flat fee rather than a percentage of the box office gross: www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2020/feb/10/patrick-jordan-obituary

He was certainly a face I saw on TV, but could never place what from. I am sure he did The Sweeney also, but didn't. Big friends with Alec Guiness, hence the Star Wars part. A great innings though. RIP

He would have been ideal for The Sweeney, probably as a senior officer who aggravated Regan.

He would have been ideal for The Sweeney, probably as a senior officer who aggravated Regan. What actually make me look him up last week was I thought he had a role in the first series of Casualty, but it wasn't him. He had a face of authority so I could have seen him and Regan clashing.

Thanks for posting.

R.I.P. Patrick Jordan.
I too remember his role in U.F.O. 'The Responsibility Seat' where he played a sympathetic character, whereas elsewhere he played more ruthless types IIRC.

Yes, probably not a well known name but certainly a recognisable face on British TV and film. He appeared in Robbery (1967) as one of the gang members and also in one of my favourite films from the Children's Film Foundation, Paganini Strikes Again. Sad to hear of his death. RIP Patrick.
