Just saw this - a very recognisable face from my youth. Wrote a song for the Small Faces and was one of the celebs on the front cover of Band On The Run.
RIP.

I remember him well from TV from my Childhood, always came across as a decent sort of bloke. Was he not a comedian??
RIP Kenny

Probably best described as a light entertainer if that makes sense.

I always remember him from appearing on game shows/entertainment shows, so yes a light entertainer does make sense.

RIP ... pretty sure he was on 'The Comedians' and turns up in a few dodgy 70s movies here and there too.

I remember him primarily from 'Get This!', with Harry Fowler, circa early/mid 1970s.

I remember him primarily from 'Get This!', with Harry Fowler, circa early/mid 1970s. I m glad someone else remembers this show , that I can always recall him presenting . I think it was very early 70s , on ITV , in a similar time slot to Magpie . He also presented Just Amazing , alongside Suzanne Danielle , in the mid 80s & was also a popular guest on shows like Celebrity Squares and Give us a Clue RIP KENNY

Lynch played the role of Roland Holder in the Sweeney episode Down To You, Brother. I liked his character in that, a professional crim but measured and sensible, quite a contrast to his white mate who ended up getting them all into trouble. As with Alan David's Blakeney I reckon Holder is someone who could have stood another appearance in the series. Enjoyed 'Dr Terror's House of Horrors' as well.

Kenny Lynch can also be heard but not seen in Sweeney! where he overdubs the lines given to the Johnson's Henchman played by Antony Scott.

Blimey this is sad to learn - Kenny was a top turn be it acting, comedy or singing (I've a compilation CD of his 60's material and it's quality stuff). Made an MBE if I recall as he was the first mainstream black English entertainer. RIP Sir

Sorry to hear this. Kenny could be difficult to categorise, which increases his cult appeal An all-rounder perhaps like e.g. Roy Castle or Peter Gordeno - in theory, a light entertainer but could also turn his hand to acting, both comedy and serious. R.I.P. Kenny Lynch.
