I mentioned earlier in the Eastenders thread that he was on death's door so this isn't a shock.
I will keep a dignified silence on Grantham and pass no comment.

I liked him in his role as Dirty Den. I watched EastEnders while Den & Angie were in it. I'm not a fan of him as a person and I'll keep a dignified silence like MIAS.

I have never watched Eastenders, never been a fan of Soap Operas, Coronation Street, is the only Soap Opera, I have ever really liked.
I recently saw Leslie Grantham, in some episodes of the children's Science Fiction Drama series Delta Wave (shown on ITV, in 1996).
Leslie Grantham, appeared in a memorable feature length episode (Dance of the Scorpions) of Wycliffe, and the Doctor Who story - Resurrection of the Daleks (1984).

I used to love Eastenders when he was in it first time around, not many actors will ever be able to say they were in a programme watched by around 30million viewers.
I also liked The Paradise Club and 99-1, both very good TV programmes in my own opinion.
Was he a saint? No, but then very few of us actually are.
RIP Leslie/Den

He was a decent enough actor and will always be remembered for Dirty Den. The Paradise Club was mostly good thanks to Murray Smith's scripts.

RIP Leslie Grantham. His double act with Anita Dobson gave my my hours of entertainment, she loved eastenders back then and the interaction of them was her favourite bit.
Admittedly, I don’t know much about it, but the furore over his webcam adventure seems to me to be typical media overreaction..... older man plays on the Internet with his webcam, gets found out. Does he really need the sack?, does he need front page splashes (phnar phnar) ? a few stern words maybe, but come on, it’s childish stupidity at best. I don’t agree with this celebrity bait and switch that happens these days.

Did anyone ever see the science fiction series The Uninvited? He appeared in that and I think co-wrote it as well. Interesting premise, owing something to Invasion of the Body Snatchers and the first episode was genuinely intriguing. Lost its way in subsequent episodes which was a bit of shame.

Such is his association with 'Eastenders', it is easy to overlook that his two spells in the show did not cover very many years.
Indeed, at the peak of his fame he moved straight on to 'The Paradise Club'.
R.I.P. Leslie Grantham.

Next month, DRAMA are going to start repeating EastEnders from the 1st ever episode shown on 19th February 1985 onwards. I remember watching that back then, a day before my 6th birthday. It ended with a punch-up between Nick Cotton and Ali Osman, both got thrown out, Den said "I've got blood on my shirt!" before Nick punched the door window.

RIP Leslie Grantham. He was the presenter of Fort Boyard. Like the Crystal Maze but set on an actual real life island with physical challenges. That French gameshow that tries to put the Crystal Maze to shame or maybe add more to what gameshows could do for television. I thought it was Spanish but I see it is French.

I am sure once we get to the end of 85 the will fast forward to the 00s, just like they did with The Bill.

He was on some channel 5 retro show only last month hosted by Matthew Kelly. He was talking about Eastenders and he appeared guant then.
As others have said he was mostly associated with Eastenders but he was fantastic in The Paradise Club and 99-1.
R.I.P. Leslie Grantham
