I just learned that American actor Clint Walker passed away on May 21st just shy of his 91st birthday. For some reason his death received little attention in the U.S. He is best known as the star of the Western Tv series Cheyenne and for his role as Posey in the film The Dirty Dozen. He also appeared in movies like The White Buffalo and the TV movie Killdozer! His height of six foot six inches and muscular build made him stand out in anything he appeared in. Rest In Peace

Such a shame, one of my favourites in the dozen. RIP Big Clint.
Had to be careful typing that last bit

I only took delivery of 'The Night of the Grizzly' (1966) last week and wondered if he was still with us. Sad to hear that he has now joined Lee Marvin, Telly Savalas, Charles Bronson, John Cassavetes, Tom Busby, Ben Carruthers, Al Mancini and Trini Lopez as fallen members of 'The Dirty Dozen'.
I think Clint deserves some credit for some solid acting performances in his career. He was a giant (6ft 6ins tall) and must have been one of the tallest character actors in Hollywood!
RIP

Clint would've made an excellent Doc Savage.
I think his acting was kind of limited. However by no means do I say that with any malice. Coz his presence on film was unique. Given decent direction (someone prepared to direct an actor) and the right roles he could've done well.
As it was he never quite got that star role.

He popped up in guest roles on American sitcoms and handled comedy fairly well. When I first saw him in his western series I wondered where they got a horse strong enough for him to ride.

RIP Clint Walker... apparently his final film Small Solider as Nick Nitro he did the voice on, which was talked about alot at the time of its release and he was in the 1956 film The Ten Commandments which I barely remember watching. My R.E. teacher forced us to watch that during class at one point if it was that good.
