Enigmatic character, and loved the media. But I'll leave it at that. I'm always reminded in The Godfather when Moe Green is talking to Michael Corleone about Alfredo of having "to straighten your brother out, he was banging cocktail waitresses, two at a time" well, that's how I always envisage Stringfellow.

He took pity on former 'Coronation Street' actor Chris "Brian Tilsley" Quinten and gave the terminally useless and unemployable actor a job at one of his clubs.
RIP

RIP Remember when he left Corrie to "make it in Hollywood?" I was told he was in Robocop 2 and gets killed. Back on topic, I was reading about Stringfellow, he seemed like a decent sort really. RIP.

Back on topic, I was reading about Stringfellow, he seemed like a decent sort really. His appearance on an edition of celebrity Come Dine With Me was funny. IIRC he just kept giving the other contestants 10 out of 10 and his sink collapsed. He came across as quite an affable fellow with nothing to prove.

He'd just had this marble sink fitted at his drum and he clearly never did any cooking coz when he went and put all the washing up in it his sink fell through the kitchen top... F***ing classic it was. Massive crash and all the guests were like: 'F*** me Peter, are you okay? What the ****s going on in there?' and he was just like 'Me ****ing sinks just broke!!' Man it was funny. He just took it in his stride though. Laughed it off and kept dishing out 10/10s to the other contestants, no matter how bad their food was.

I remember his 'boat' appearing in the News of the World quite regularly in the '80s, always linked to some tittle-tattle.
The guy certainly seemed to enjoy life and lived it to the full, good on him.
RIP.

I remember in about the late 90s a radio advert for a new Hyundai, suitable for tradesmen, small businesses etc. Peter Stringfellow voiced-over the glories of the product, then his final line was sternly delivered: "The ultimate pick-up vehicle?....Not in my book....!" R.I.P. Peter Stringfellow.
