A brilliant keeper - my Dad, who was a season ticket holder, talked about him a lot. Players like St. John, Yeats and Hunt are often talked about from that side but Lawrence rarely got the credit he deserved.

He seemed like a Gentleman. I like the interview asking if he remembered the Cup game without the interviewer knowing who he was.

I saw Tommy Lawrence play in some testimonials at Anfield in the 1970s when I was a kid. He was a good goalkeeper in a such a successful side. Never got proper recognition from Scotland though. Liverpool could do with him now to be honest.

Liverpool could do with him now to be honest. When Tommy played football, the Scotland selectors didn't like to play guys who played in England. A lot of Scots footballers suffered from this and the Scots team would have also.
