..........85, a decent innings. Burt was always a reliable actor, I liked him as Cato, but am sure many others here will share their own favourite films. RIP Burt, and thanks for the memories

Fair play to Burt, he made something dreadful a whole lot better.
Was just watching The Sentimental Agent the other night for which we don't have a thread here. RIP Burt.

A shame, had a very versatile career and appeared in lots of stuff, must have been the main go to Chinese actor in the UK for many a year.
A good innings, but still a shame.
RIP

RIP Burt.

Yes RIP Burt. One of those actors that was a token presence over the last 40yrs+. Always welcome in any production that I watch.

I watched him most recently as the hot dog vendor in Deep End. Never going to be one of his best remembered parts, but I liked the way he seemed equal parts dead pan and bemused as John Moulder-Brown's character kept coming back, always with the same order.

He was always a good prescense in anything he appeared in. He is one of the actors I always enjoy seeing turn up in a movie or tv show regardless of how big a part he had. Rest In Peace.

I know it was a dreadful programme and probably racist, but I used to like his zen style voiceovers on Banzai. Made a good contrast with the other really manic bloke. I remember one stunt featuring a bunch of unprepossessing goths drinking snakebite and black. Cue Burt's mock reverential intro: "This is Goth-man. Some say Goth-man endangered species. Others say this no bad thing." All in the delivery of course. Brilliant.

He also did a lot of ITC - in those days of stock footage and re-used props, he was ever the reliable oriental player.
RIP Bert Kwouk, one of the old school.

Burt was never out of work, every casting director who wanted a Japanese commandant, a Chinese Red Guard, a shady oriental businessman or spy, in fact anyone vaguely oriental, got him. He always did a good job despite the limitations of some of the rubbish that he had to do.
