The singer of rock group Stone Temple Pilots has died at the age of 48. I only have their first album and the debut one of Velvet Revolver which featured Weiland and several former Guns 'N Roses members. Back in the '90s, STP were seen as part of the grunge movement spearheaded by Nirvana and Pearl Jam as well as Soundgarden. Weiland had a lot of personal problems, including drug addictions but he was a fine singer.

Fantastic voice, I agree, but a pain to work with. The normally laid back relaxed Slash was at his wits end working with Scott.

Wow, tragic news. I owned Core when it first came out. Great album.

It is a great album. Not a single weak track. STP also contributed to the soundtrack for Brandon Lee's last film The Crow.

Very sad passing. I know "Piece of Pie" by STP and also "Creep"

Sex Type Thing was a very controversial single back in its day. I think it was banned from youtube at one time because of its suggestive lyrics.
