I thought this was an Excellent episode. One could argue it was almost a bit too classic, with various of the characters coming straight from Central Casting - the dispatch riders, the loud radio controller, the Warnock brother villains and even the Jehovah Witnesses - but no matter, it was all tied together with a great couple of story lines, Ray getting to wear a tie and still flex his muscles and eyebrows and Arthur just about balancing things in a way only he can. Good to see plod getting back to more like the days when Terry was around - wondering what is going on, kind of getting it eventually but Arthur remaining a step and a half ahead of them. Brian Hibbard was indeed very good but Elaine Lordan was outstanding - what a role. And a short round of applause for the taxman and his bus pass, surely?

Brian Hibbard was indeed very good but Elaine Lordan was outstanding - what a role. I've always found Elaine Lordan to be excellent in which ever role I see her. I especially liked her in 'Big Deal' and 'Tuckers Luck'. Sadly she has suffered from issues with alcohol so is unlikely to be cast in anything today however let's hope she can overcome this and get back to acting.

Watching this now - another one of my fave episodes from the Ray Daley years - the character of Rabbit was classic...
