The old chap at the hospital (Dunning) is a great addition to this one as he is nothing but additional 'agg' for a bedridden Arthur, telling Arthur the details of how he got his 'Chalfonts' (haemorrhoids) done. Very funny to watch.
There is also of course the letter: Dear Terrence. No. Terry. Dear Terry, I am writing this in case something happens to me. You would laugh if you could see me now, but what with having this operation, I seem to have gone a bit morbid. This is just to say that you have been like a son to me, even though at times I might have been a bit inconsiderate. But you know what the pressures on the entrepreneur are, in this day and age. I hope you have enjoyed our long association, as much as I have, despite the vicississitu... vicississi... ups and downs. Good luck. Your pal, Arthur
Three interesting pics about this one (see below) - on the left, a Ceefax on screen seen in the episode showing the date: Sat 22 Oct 1983. The picture in the middle is an auction I lost out on that has as a enlarged grab of the lot I didn't win. This was Roy Pointer's paperwork. I know it is blurry but it is the best picture I could get ... I am 99.9% certain this is a call sheet for Get Daley, which shows a very blurry Get Daley and Ian Toynton in the red circle and Tuesday, November 1st in the green circle. The word 'Hospital' is also seen just below the red circle. Therefore, based on these two dates, I would have to put the filming of this episode between Sat 22 Oct 1983 and Fri 04 Nov 1983.
A nice newspaper prop 'The Handicap Book' which also features in A Well Fashioned Fit Up can also be seen here on the right.
