Saddened to hear about the death of B-movie screen icon Henry Silva today. He starred in loads of stuff and had a great run, working throughout his career. Very distinctive looking, he would go on to work in many genres, in both film and TV, often as lead bad guys or henchmen, but it is for his work in Euro crime movies of the 1970s that I most fondly remember him. Bizarrely, although I only just found this sad news out today, the day he actually passed away (14th of September) I was sat at work and out of nowhere I had this sudden feeling he had passed but when I looked him up there was no news on his passing and I was relieved to see he was still with us… Then today I found out … spooky! Anyway, Mr Silva, thanks for the outstanding body of work you left us with. One of my absolute favourite actors of all time. R.I.P.

I enjoyed his eccentric performance in Ghost Dog Way of Samurai as the aged mob boss. I find a lot of the perfomances in that film a bit too studied and artificial, but he plays it just right.

I know it but believe it or not have never seen it ltd. I’ve seen little bits of it but never watched it fully.

I remember him best for playing Kane in Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, but surprisingly he was only in the movie/pilot with Michael Ansara taking over the part in the rest of the series.
R.I.P.

Was looking at something else and saw this news. A highly dependable bad guy actor with a very long list of credits. RIP

R.I.P. +1, I also remember him in The Streets of San Francisco. Instantly recognisable bad guy who always put in a top performance. R.I.P.

As Arch mentioned, he played the nasty villain character very well and I'm sure he was the 'go to' for many writers and directors to fulfil such roles.
RIP.

Distinguishing actor who played the villain very well in a lot of 80s films, and was a guest star in countless TV shows over several decades. You knew you were getting some serious tone character acting if Henry's name popped up as a guest star in that TV episode. RIP

I saw this obituary on YouTube and it cheered me up. I have no idea what the channel is, I just thought I’d post it on here coz it seemed like an unusual obituary and I liked the quote from Deana Martin.

RIP He played a very good baddie in 1981's Sharkey's Machine Starring Burt Reynolds.
