Anyone who isn't moved by those songs and her voice just hasn't got a heart. RIP Judith.

The first songs I remember hearing were Georgy Girl, The Carnival is Over and Morningtown Ride. Must have been mid-late '60s. Can't believe so much time has passed.
R.I.P.

The first songs I remember hearing were Georgy Girl, The Carnival is Over and Morningtown Ride. Must have been mid-late '60s. Can't believe so much time has passed. R.I.P. The first Seekers songs I heard were those on their Seen in Green album, because my parents bought the LP and I played it to death I suppose it was inevitable, bearing in mind that Judith had had a stroke a few years ago, that sooner or later the news would report her death. But it is still very sad.
She had the voice of an angel: pure and accurate, with just a hint of vibrato, but not so much that it becomes mannered. Natural, unforced, effortless - perfect. The Seekers' songs have a feel-good factor that is timeless. I'm not sure which my favourite Seekers song is, but the shortlist would include Time and Again, Walk With Me, A World of Our Own and The Carnival is Over. Her rendition of If You Go Away has got to be one of the most powerful I've heard - it knocks spots off Dusty Springfield's with all its wrong notes (aka ad libs or artistic interpretation). She was a very pretty woman, made more attractive because she didn't have to *try* to be beautiful in a "look at me - aren't I amazing" way. She just *was*. She seemed to have a sense of fun: and . Shame we didn't hear her keyboard talents more - as in the harpsichord accompaniment to All I can Remember . I'm sure many men of a certain age would like to have spent time with her "Sheltered from the world behind the ivy-covered wall". I can never decide whether I prefer Judith Durham, Marianne Faithfull (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWw-Ohh04hU, before her voice went bad) or Esther Ofarim (as in - sung in German, but she and Abi also recorded it in English).
