So we learned in the Mail today that Dennis went out quickly in the end. Playing golf Christmas day but he had the dreaded bug in his leg, and this was secondary to his lungs. It seems it was a bit of a surprise he went so quick, based on that interview with his daughter Julia. With his cremation and no public funeral, it is still a bit of a shock today that he died, and we won't get to see him on stage or screen again.I still can't get my head round it. As I will tell anyone that will listen, I had always hoped to meet him and thank him one day. Still deflated that I'll never be able to do that now.

He came from the same area of London as I did and my Mother said she knew of his brother, Peter Waterman, the boxer, and that the family lived some distance from us back in the sixties! I sent him a friend request on Face Book quite a few years back and he accepted (if it really was him) and I did try to chat to him on occasion but never received a reply and soon after disappeared from the site! Sad that he's no longer with us... JB

In the BBC’s 'Review 2022 - We Remember' (available on catchup now) Dennis gets a mention and there’s also a clip from 'The Smaller They Are'.

….and in Ch5’s 'The Best Christmas Day Telly Ever' there’s a clip from Minder On The Orient Express - which looks like it came from a bootleg NTSC conversion.

I watched an old interview with Dennis on the tube the other night. She said he would get another 50 years but he said he didn't think he would make it that far. Poor Dennis its hard to believe he is dead.
