Conrad Janis, probably best known in these parts for his role in Mork and Mindy (as Mindy's father, Fred McConnell) has passed away at 94 years of age. He was a renowned jazz trombonist, which of course translated nicely into Mork and Mindy in which his character ran a music shop. www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/breaking-conrad-janis-dead-mork-26429570His film credits included Airport 1975 (1974), The Buddy Holly Story (1978) and Oh God, Book II (1980). On TV he appeared in Get Smart, My Favorite Martian, Kojak, Cannon, The Invisible Man (McCallum series), Quark, V, The Golden Girls and Frasier. He also featured in The Rear Guard, a US pilot of Dad's Army in which he played the German Captain made famous in the BBC episode The Deadly Attachment by Philip Madoc.
