Leon Greene, who appeared in two 1960's Hammer films (A Challenge for Robin Hood and The Devil Rides Out), sadly died, three days ago, aged 89.
Leon Greene, also appeared in episodes of three cult TV series (The Saint, The Avengers and The Persuaders), and two BBC Sitcoms (Terry and June and Ever Decreasing Circles).

The Devil Rides Out is one of the very best Hammer ever did IMO.
RIP Leon.

An interesting cult actor. I believe he was principally a singer with operatic range, as seen to prominent effect as a baritone in 'A Funny Thing Happened On the Way To the Forum' (1966) - prior to the film, he had performed in the stage version.
He also had a major part in 'The Devil Rides Out' (1968).
Otherwise, though, he often had minor roles as henchmen-types, which was surprising given his obvious talent.
E.g. he had cameos in several Carry On's, including being the executioner in 'Henry' and the hotel chef (who was on strike) in 'At Your Convenience'. He even appeared in 'The Squeeze' (1977) as the commissionaire who tried to deny Freddie Starr entry to an upmarket hotel.
R.I.P. Leon Greene.
