Justin saying "You make sure you give that cab a good dousing" Self-Inflicted saying "Don't worry about my bottle Tel, you can rely on my, I'm one of your own in'I?" There are so many great lines in this episode, pretty much every one is a classic. The end line Terry says about Arthur always cracks me up Classic Daley Enterprises economics how to lose five grand but gain two in one 24 hour business blitz

Just watching the aforementioned episode for the second time in 24 hrs - Vintage Minder!
You can really see how DW has aged quite a bit - I hadn't realised there was a 3 year gap between series 6 and 7..
Does anyone know tne reason for this?

Series 6 was supposed to be the end of Minder, hence the gap in production.

Thanks I had no idea.
Was it because Thames TV lost the franchise?

No, Thames didn’t loose it’s franchise until 1992 while series 9 was in production.

Just think it was one of the last major gigs before R Kinnear's passing..

Just think it was one of the last major gigs before R Kinnear's passing.. Yes, I remember Meic Povey telling me they heard about his accident while still working on Minder and everyone was very shocked. Based on the date of Roy Kinnear's death (20 Sep 1988) they would have been filming 'An Officer And A Car Salesman' when this news broke. I remember hearing this news myself on TV-AM at the time, all pretty sad as Roy Kinnear was a very much loved actor back then and it all came very unexpectedly.

In some ways this episode has the feel of an earlier series. Think it’s the locations or maybe I’m talking rubbish ! Love the bit In the car where Justin is giving Arthur a bit of gbh of the ear hole, so the old fox jams the brake on to put him in his place!!

Very enjoyable start to S7. Full of great moments, characters and dialogue.
Best line has to be from Self-Inflicted, when Terry finds him on his sofa, after the carnage of the fridge and the strewn beer cans :
Tel : My gawd, your eyes! Sid : You should see 'em from this side...
Classic Minder!

A great assortment of characters in this. Roy Kinnear was so funny, his dodgy smile always makes me giggle. The expression on his face as he drives past having spotted the police is priceless

Arthur asks him if there's a problem with the van to which he replies in a very coy voice, "I've got a feeling the old-billlll might think so!" "They had the back open and were looking in and that."

Watched this episode this morning. Really good one with a great collection of additional characters and a cracking script. Agree with an earlier post that Rycott is superb and only just found out that Peter Childs passed away not long after at a young age.

Oh dear..That camshaft on Arthur's Granada sounds well moody.. It can heard early on as Arthur and Tel arrive at the lock up. Been there got the T shirt in the dim and distant myself.

Watched this again tonight and enjoyed it even more than last time. My quibbles are still minor. I like the ending with the van. Justin’s enthusiasm as he puts his plan in to action made me laugh at loud. 😄

A superb way to start off series 7, It's a Sorry Lorry Morrie is one of the best. It's strange to see Arthur on his uppers and Terry being turned down by the girl in the launderette, but it doesn't take long for the episode to hit it's stride and we are back amongst old friends. Great cast of characters in this one especially Self Inflicted and Charlie - loved the scene in the Granada when Charlie's seat collapses and he spends the rest of the journey flat on his back. Never really took to Jones getting promoted, probably because he was such a brilliant foil to Chisholm but his rivalry with Rycott works well here. The setting fire to the van works a treat and sets up many comedy moments, not least Rycott falling through the boxes. If there was any doubt that Minder returning for a 7th series might not work then It's a Sorry Lorry proved the doubters wrong. 4.5 out of 5.

It should get the extra 0.5 just because Terry gives Phil Mitchell a smack...

I love this episode and have just watched it once again. As many have stated the character ‘Self inflicted’ is superb and has some great dialogue and Fat Charlie played by the excellent Roy Kinnear again is superb, as he generally was. The guy who played Morrie I am sure played one of the senior officers in the early days of London’s Burning. One possible blooper on this one though is that when Terry parks the van up in the yard there is a London Taxi parked just in front of it, slightly to the right. When you see Terry walking out of the yard the taxi appears to have gone, but is back there when the camera pans back to the original view.

Caught this on ITV4 today and during the scene of self inflicted breaking into Terrys flat so he can phone Arthur about Jones sniffing around, you can count 14 empty lager cans in the kitchen and sitting room so self inflicted could certainly put some away.
Btw, the Carlsberg cans are obvious enough but can anyone identify the blue and white ones?

Google says it was a Fullers product, and there are images in the Canmuseum. www.canmuseum.com/Detail.aspx?CanID=92300

Fascinating fact… Catrina Hylton-Hull who played the blonde job in the launderette is/was Rod Hull’s stepdaughter.
She used to appear in the pink windmill thing on kids tv back in the day. That show was a load of pony.
