The actor Paul Ritter has died from a brain tumour aged just 55 was in films including Harry Potter and on tv probably best known to me and others as the eccentric dad in Friday Night Dinner on Channel 4 RIP

I was shocked to read this. A good actor who appeared in quite a lot over the years and was very dependable.
Of course, along with many, I know him best from the excellent Friday Night Dinner and in which he was superb in.
No age at all.
RIP Paul

An illustrious list of credits on IMDB. I first noticed him as the middle-aged mummy's boy MI5 agent in The Game. He was really good, investing what could have easily been a comedy caricature with some genuine pathos. His character wasn't always likeable but you sympathised with him.
A great shame, for such a fine career to be cut short like that.

He was also very good in Chernobyl

For me he was the star of the show in Friday Night Dinner, had a long list of credits, nominated for a Tony award and also an Olivier. Only a few months older than myself. RIP
