I see Captain Tom has died in hospital from Covid.
Shot to fame a little less than 12 months ago by raising money for charity in the run up to his 100th Birthday
RIP Sir Tom.

Someone lent my mum and dad his book; they both read it and said it was fantastic. I don't know much about him (since I didn't read the book), but it's clear to me that he was a hero in the truest sense of the word. He must have achieved more and helped more people right at the very end of his long life than most people could during the entirety of theirs. Such a shame that, even at 100, he probably died sooner than he should have. I really ought to read that book. R.I.P.

Captain Tom will be forever associated with the first UK lockdown. He was a positive at an unprecedented time.
R.I.P. Captain Sir Tom Moore.

From what I've read about him he experienced a fair few ups and downs in his life, which he seems to have endured with stoicism and his characteristic good humour. It's sad that he's died but what a final year he had. RIP Captain.
