Watched this in its entirety for first time in a good few years, as myself and my good friend Barry the Book watched it to death, after videoing a repeat as part of an ITV Remembers Minder in early 1989, not that it was a bad thing by any means! The amount of great moments, one liners and Arthur expressions are countless! Absolutely brilliant. The amount of lines that we also used in general conversation are also worth noting.

Although I have the Minder box set I hadn't seen this episode since the 80s. Box sets are great but I tend not to watch them all the way though. It's better when it is randomly shown on ITV4. It was one of my dad's favourite episodes - Cyril 'The Syrup' was a great character.
It's funny that Cyril passes off Arthur's dud £20s to buy a Roger Moore syrup and to think that the next time Patrick Malahide and Robbie Coltrane were in the same film was in The World Is Not Enough!

Reading some of the other replies and people think of this as an episode of an earlier series I only watch Minder, The Sweeney etc on ITV 4 but this particular episode is very grimy looking in its visual presentation and it did remind me of season 1 or 2. Since there are no blu ray's of the show do any of the DVD sets have a better cleaner version of this episode or does it need a proper restoration? If so I wonder why this looks so rough as the other episodes even from the previous series look much better. Never minded the picture quality, it was a rough and ready era, and some of us who lived in the city at the time have a great fondness for the times and places we see in the show. The show was never made to be viewed on TV's that fill a whole wall of a house I think. I just stick to my 28 inch in the corner of the room as I've done for the last 40 years. Absolutely. There was no idea that years afterwards 'experts' like us would be going through the episodes frame by frame years later using tech that was only a dream then. Hats off to the writers who were charged with continuing a series that they didn't know the end date of. Sometimes we should realise that hindsight is a wonderful thing

Haven’t seen this episode in so many years that I can’t remember what happens. When I watch minder it’s not an episode I choose to watch ( not sure why) il put it on my list of next episodes to watch

I was watching this tonight and was trying to work out what the films were in the pile of VHS in Arthur's lock up when the Indian heavies are round. I was pleased to spot Hammer's 'Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter' in there. I had that same version on pre-cert.. Deliverance? Blood Song. Tough to work out on DVD. Need the Blu Ray. Have you find out what they were since then?

Have you find out what they were since then? Not yet. I'm sure I spotted Ransom on Guild a Rank video tape when the guy puts them on the desk👍.There were some English videos in the first couple of scenes in the video shop at the beginning too,no idea what they were though.

Watching it yesterday, I found that although I'd seen the money counting scene plenty of times before, I'd never spotted that when they get to £200, Arthur is giving Chisholm a V sign. Reminded me of Fletcher listing three points to Mr McKay in Porridge and 'forgetting' to raise his third finger (the third point being ''don't let the ba****ds grind you down).

I have watched this countless times, including last Friday, and still laugh out loud at some of the lines in this episode.

He played Bertie Woosters' replacement Butler in an episode of Jeeves and Wooster when Jeeves decided to move on. I also remember him in TV advertisements for bottled milk being delivered daily by the traditional Milkman in the 80s.
