Press photo from inside 'The Blarney Stone', a right bull and cow imminent. By the standards of modern day 'Oirish' pubs that have sprung up around the world The Blarney Stone is really quite restrained!

A nice way to round off series 4. Lots of great comedy moments and funny lines in this one. Shyver entertaining clients when Terry and Arthur (bookmaker!) show up. Arthur believing he is mixing with nobility "Count so and so, Baron such and such" - "Lord help us" - that always cracks me up. Arthur trying to sell Dave a dress - "Have a butchers at them buttonholes, hand stitched" - "Stitched up more like". Also loved it when Arthur is minding Ronnie's place and backs on to the mannequin. Oh and of course the barney at the Irish bar is a belter, rounded off with "Always gets them on their feet that one". 4 out of 5.

Not seen this one for a while and forgot Billy and Nigel. Right pair of rascals, good characters. Right old ruck in the Irish, good job the giant didn’t connect with Terry cos that would have hurt 🤕 Keep bobbing and weaving !

‘Christine Dior’ I always enjoy the spiel the guy gives Arthur about the dresses at the beginning and Arthur’s reaction.

Watched this afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed it. On of the few episodes I used to own on video years ago so an episode I am familiar with.
I saw Zoe, actress Sara Sugarman in series 2 of Grange Hill a few weeks ago and she has that annoying accent in it to, so must be her normal voice.
She did win some awards for her work as a director so fair play to her, as would make much as a voiceover artist.
Christopher Fulford is an actor we used to see on our screens quite regular, but not seen him in much for quite a while now, but still seems to be racking up work according to IMDB and says a lot as to how little modern TV I watch.

Absolutely love Stanley meadows in this episode. “The three fs fibre fabric and finish”. The sharp shrewd businessman he thought he was before been out witted by Arthur at the end is priceless.

He was in the later Jack Taylor films with Iain Glenn, as an English rogue cop. He's sort of like Taylor's dark mirror image - he's really good, and I wouldn't have minded the character having his own series. He was in Our Friends in the North as well. As others have said, a much underrated actor. I like this episode, there's a good contrast between the high life of the fashion industry and the world of drinking clubs, boozers and lock ups that Arthur and Terry inhabit. Used to see a fair few Blarney Stone style plastic paddy type pubs in Birmingham back in the 1990s.

Anyone know who played Ronnie’s secretary ‘Pippa dear...’ ? Doesn’t appear to be credited, but I’m sure I’ve seen her boat somewhere before.
Also reminds me of a blonde bird I used to work with in the late 80s, I was only 19 or so she was a few years older but wow she was a right sort. We did have a bit of at thing many years later so my curiosities were eventually satisfied. It was worth the wait 😛🥧

Thanks swainy, turns out she is credited and I can’t read. Googling images ... the resemblance with the lady I mentioned is uncanny. Then and now. Could be her. But definitely isn’t! 😀

Has anyone pointed out that of all the Honourable members of the 3 club (actors who've appeared in The Sweeney, Minder and The Professionals) Stanley Meadows deserves to be crowned all time ruler as he's not only done those but puts the icing on the cake with The Avengers, The Saint, The Persuaders, The Protectors and loads more. It's probably quicker to list programmes he wasn't in. Thank you Mr Meadows for all your efforts.

Well...this was the 2nd from last Minder episode id never seen and i saw it at the end of February. I liked the young arty bohemian character played by Sarah Silverman...you really felt Minder was in the 80s at this point in 1983...and Sarah's character epitomised that. A good decent episode

This episode it is little too forced for me, with far too much dialogue for Cole who begins to grate a tad and runs into cliche. You can certainly tell this is episode not written by one of the regulars. It's like an episode written by a fan, rather than a writer with 2 episodes of dialogue in 50 minutes.
The fight in the Irish Pub reminds me of an early Sweeney episode 'Night Out', but with Irishmen instead of Scotsman. Peter Brayham makes an appearance with a brief fight with Waterman.
While the plot ties itself up nicely the story could have been worked better. Despite its moments its just trying too hard and lacks the subtleties of earlier episodes. Not one of the best for my money.

Watched this episode today as part of my all-seasons trawl. I thought it was excellent and although it doubtless had its flaws, the fact that I had more than one laugh-out-loud moment meant that I gave it 5/5. The "Christine Dior" patter was really funny, as was Terry's "Lord Help Us" gag - corny, I know, but that hits the spot for me. The plot twist was fairly predictable, I suppose, and although I agree with others that Sara Sugarman's accent grated a little, she more than made up for it with those beautiful brown eyes.....
The Old Bill was missing in this episode, but it had plenty to make up for it - dodgy deals, Arthur's malapropisms, the 'barney in the Blarney', and Arthur's constant skimming of Terry's earnings. Lots to like.
