Notice the person looking out of their window watching the filming while Arthur and Frank are talking in the street? Just under 5 mins in

Yes, I think they look/pull back the curtain, go back out of sight and then pull back the curtain for a second time and appear again.

Series 3, episode 3 and I can actually remember a bit about this episode.
Not a bad little episode at all with Arthur venturing into the art world, aided and abetted by the dodgy artist Frank, played by George Sewell.
Candy Davis brightens this episode up with her sparkling personality.

Arthur's flat in this episode looks like the same location used as Arthur's flat in 'Another Bride, Another Groom'. In the scene where Arthur is hanging his picture on the wall and Terry is giving him directions, you can see the hallway in the background matches that seen in 'Another Bride, Another Groom'.

Could well have been and would have made logistical sense for the production team, to use a familiar location. Good spot G

As I am fine tuning the episode guide on minder.org together with my chief proofreader, I thought I would add this little behind the scenes photo from this episode, which is on display in the 'Prospect of Whitby' pub, near to where this was filmed:

Cracking photo jno - still doesn't seem right to 'Terry' with a ciggie in his hand though!

I like George Sewlell so it was fun to see him in Minder. A highly enjoyable episode. After seeing around thirty episodes of this show it's getting harder to find ways to praise George Cole. His just so great as Arthur Daley! I went back and checked the bit where the boy notices the camera and makes sure he gets filmed. I wonder what he thought when he saw himself on Telly.

I m sure I can recall an episode of Lovejoy that had a similar plot to this involving a fake artist - Terry is now back in the gold Capri that he uses for the majority of this season - The first outing for Arthur s lovely silver Mercedes W123 - I own the later model to this a W124 & appreciate the quality - although it is hard to visualise Arthur in anything else other than a Jag or Daimler ITV4 would have a field day editing this one - with I would guess most of the scenes in the strip club chopped ! - We also have another classic moment where Arthur turns up at Terrys flat and disturbs his night of passion ! - I think the girl playing the stripper Candy Davies occasionally played young Mr Graces secretary in Are You Being Served ?

- I think the girl playing the stripper Candy Davies occasionally played young Mr Graces secretary in Are You Being Served ? She did indeed and was once together with a certain Gary Olsen of 'Broken Arrow' and 'Prospects'.

Not so keen on this one personally. I think if the subject matter (art forgery) isn't my cup of tea, then The episode does too, for me. I felt the same with Anthony Valentine's episodes (gambling)! As ever, the performances, especially George Cole, are mostly great, though I thought Patricia Quinn over acted when Steve Alder turned up and started fighting George Sewell. Candy Davis looked hot here. John Tordoff, cleaned up from The Sweeney ep, Supersnout, though still not able to keep away from strip clubs. I did like the "deliberate mistake" on the painting.

A comfortable 4/5 - series 3 was excellent Think it's been mentioned somewhere before, but clearly the studio flat used in "Bigger They Are" in The Sweeney.

When Arthur and Frank are standing and talking on the street, early in the episode, every passerby behind them seems to know filming is going on and looks toward the camera. Someone is also watching from a window across the street. They can be seen right above Arthur's trilby in the scene.

Yes I've noticed that as well. Now I know it's in the scene i look for it every time. It's not ideal for the reality of the programme but i'd much rather see this kind of thing than have a studio bound production.

Not bad this one. Some great scenes of old Soho (I assume) so it’s got plenty of old London atmosphere. Not that much story to it though. Terry seemed to genuinely consider the offer from the dodgy bookie at the end. Oh and I still see George Sewell as the hapless sergeant from The Detectives!

Terry seemed to genuinely consider the offer from the dodgy bookie at the end. Yeah but only for a split second I reckon. He'd not of left Arthur, no matter how many times he felt he'd been taken advantage of. Terry was a creature of habit I think and felt safe with Arthur.

Rory Quinn studying the painting was always a very funny scene too! His masterpiece having been revealed as not! Shame he didn't return! JB
