Watched it late night on ITV4, and I'm amazed and flabbergasted every time I see it by what DW and GC are asked to do when abducting the bull, those of you who haven't been brought up in the countryside have little idea I imagine at the danger they were put in I'm not from a farming family myself but I'm surrounded by farms so I'm fully aware of the jeopardy our two leads were put in. Several farmers are killed in Ireland and the UK every year doing far less than what DW and GC were doing, and don't let the fact that the bull had no horns mislead you, anyone can dodge a pair of horns but the most serious injuries and fatalities are by crushing, if an animal weighing over a ton pins you even accidentally against a wall or gate then you've had your chips. I'm mortified every time I see DW pulling the bull by the nose up a tailgate into the cattle truck, one panicked move by the bull and he had no way of escape, I don't think I've ever seen anything so dangerous in my 50 odd years of viewing, though Michael Crawford's self performed stunts in Some Mother's Do Have 'Em certainly rate, animals are just so unpredictable and can never be trusted to behave in a certain way. Bulls are a rarity on the streets of the big smoke so I can only conclude that the Euston mob had too many liquid lunches on their trip out in the sticks and their enthusiasm ran away with them!

Presumably Dennis and George had trained experts on hand just in case of an accident? Scenes in the strip club were far more dangerous I thought with a guy getting punched in the nuts while sexy Ann Bruce cavorts on the stage! (Why didn't she turn up more on TV outside of Minder and a small role in The Gentle Touch I've never seen her in anything else!!! I never watch ITV 4 or much real TV outside of Midsomer Murders anymore but I'll bet that the stripper scenes in this episode get shorter and shorter every time they play it! I remember watching it once years ago on Granada Plus and Debbie's strip was completely removed!!! The music started with George Cole getting doled up in his farming attire and then I'm not sure if it went straight to advert or if the scene was just not there and Debbie and pals were chatting away in the back when our Tel walked in and asked about the nonce who had been threatening them! Surely if you don't want to watch such delights then switch off but don't spoil it for the rest of us that do!!! JB
