McQueen. King of cool. Again, a no brainer.

McQueen. King of cool. Again, a no brainer. I read up on him recently. He didn't seem so cool when he was repeatedly beating the living sh*t out of his spouse (any/all of them), having multiple affairs and being purposefully indiscreet about them so he could belittle and emotionally hurt his wife. The rest of the time he was sat around in his pants watching daytime TV in a stupor, drunk and on drugs. A paranoid bully and a right nasty piece of work, with mummy issues. I think the only reason McQueen is considered cool is because his life style made sure he died before his looks and sanity crumbled. Plus apart from the odd 1 or 2 I don't care much for his movies.

Charlton Heston, no contest for me.
Politics aside (coz we don't do the 'P' word here) I like Heston. He made some superb films.
El Cid is one of my all time favourite movies.

Bonus point if you can tell me who that is in the background. Haven't a clue, but looks like Thomas Hamilton the notorious gunman at Dunblane. And I'm NOT making light of it.

Bonus point if you can tell me who that is in the background. It looks like someone I know but the person I know lives in Newtownards and works for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive so I don't think it is him.

It looks a bit like Heinrich Himmler.
It's not though. I'm telling you, it's Penfold of Dangermouse.

They are both in some of my all time favorite movies but I'm not gonna vote on this one.

Not really into Heston's movies apart from the excellent Planet Of The Apes, The Omega Man, Ben Hur and Two Minute Warning. I was always more of a McQueen man - his movies were thrilling, all-action affairs and his characters were of course cool, dangerous and unpredictable.

Soylent Green is one of my favourites so I'll go with Charlton.

Bonus point if you can tell me who that is in the background. After years of painstaking research, I think I've finally got it!
