I think Noel Gallagher goes a bit too far in his criticism of other artists. It becomes a bit too nasty, such as his criticism of Collins.

Thought it was great when Ewan McGregor got to the studio and refused to go on the breakfast show last week when he found out who the presenter was. McGregor was one of my picks for this, if i'd got around to telling jno. Hate the sanctimonious..... If he was any sort of man he would have used the interview to make Morgan look an even bigger bell end. Yes, I went off McGregor a lot when I saw him on that motorbike documentary he did with Boorman (Charlie, not Martin).. The first was okay but in the second one (Long Way Down - I think) he was awful, really childish and self centred. If I'd been Charlie I'd of been forced to headbutt him in the face I think.

Just a word in favour of Paul O'Grady who I don't think deserves to be added to a list like this. Of course, everyone has their own view and one problem for some celebrities is just over-exposure which soon wears out people's patience. I don't watch his dog homes programmes and can happily get by without them but, having said that, I thought Lily Savage was a brilliant comic creation and on top of that I would recommend his autobiographies. These mark him out as something more than just a television personality who is famous just for being on television. They are well-written, sensitive and (surprisingly for any kind of autobiography especially a show business one) not self-centred arrogant accounts of how wonderful they are. He is interested in other people and has a genuinely interesting tale to tell. I have read the first three and although the third flags a bit towards the end (I suspect partly because of contractual difficulties with his publisher) they stand out within their genre and are well worth reading.

COWELL - The Demonic Puppet Master - I can't think of anyone who has done more to dumb this country down (with the possible exception of Tony Blair) by force feeding us a diet of vacuous talent~free stooges devoid of any trace of originality year after painful f*****g year.
Paul O'Grady is unfairly included in this who's who of cack ! , and the man knows his suits too ! (coming from a Modernist angle I'm always gonna spot such detail)

I don't mind O'Grady either - he was great at the Avengers 50th Anniversary weekend a few years back.

Oooh that sounds interesting, please feel free to divulge a little more about the proceedings of the 50'th event. I remember back several years when he had Linda Thorson as one of the guests on his chat show and was in raptures (so he's obviously a genuine fan)

He is clearly a MASSIVE fan of 'The Avengers' and of course was also in the original series of 'The Bill' before Lily Savage came along. Personally I don't have any issues with Paul O'Grady.

I still don't see why one should not like him, he seems a nice guy to me. As he said " I only recorded the record once" so anyone bored of him should blame the radio stations. Noel Gallagher may not have liked him but who cares. As much as I like Noel he is known for saying stupid things a lot of the time and his army of monobrow fans believing every world. Didn't he say drugs were so common he would sprinkle them on his cornflakes and wished aids upon someone else? Hardly a great role model. The guy who dumped his girlfriend by fax seems a lot nicer by comparison. I'm with you- do t get the hate-- wouldent say I was a fan but still like some of his stuff- as for the Gallaghers- he is far more talented a musician and vocalist than the pair of them

Another nomination for part 2 is Alan Sugar. What an ironic name for one of the most sour people ever. According to what I've heard he is as odious a person as you can imagine.

Russell Brand, Jeremy Clarkson, James Corden, Davina McCall and Piers Morgan. I don't particularly watch anything that they are involved in, it is just that they strike me as 'up' themselves.

I have nothing but hate for Piers Morgan, the man is slime, utter scum. I think back to when he was editor of a Newspaper and knowingly published fake war photos to build up hatred.....yet bizarrely now seems to be the man of moment to interview people and bully people. I refuse to watch any programme he is in or associated with. There are a few others I find irritating on that list, but I'd not choose any over Piers who gets my sole vote to consign him to a dustbin. I suspect that Morgan knows much more, and was close to, the media phone-hacking scandals. But he has managed to evade it. It is as if he and Rebekah Brookes (who could herself have been a subject of this poll) were 'allowed' to be let-off. P.S. Donald Trump - if he turns out to be as parochial, if not nasty, as he is said to be, the electorate will vote him out. Whereas some of the vacuous celebs seem to be with us indefinitely, as long as they remain in a 'clique' with certain TV people.

Why is Phill Collins so disliked? Not just here but in general- never figured that one out In general, his popularity took a big hit when it was reported that he was divorcing his wife by fax around 1993-94. I don't dislike him. I think Genesis have done some decent songs but I'm not keen on his solo stuff. I like Genesis overall, esp. up to the early 80s. Phil's solo work also had its moments. It is just that, they (Genesis) and he (Phil) were considered to epitomise good mainstream music into the later 80s by which time they were approaching middle-age and not exactly trendy or cutting edge. Echo & The Bunnymen, Julian Cope or Pete Wylie struggled to reach the top 40 with awesome songs, whereas Phil or Mike Rutherford, looking like your dad, breezed in with blander music that was talked up to be epic.

There are lots of reasons you can dislike Collins, the music being one of many. He is a good drummer, I'll give him that, but I honestly don't like his singing.
His political views annoy me very much, but at least he kept his promise in 97, just a pity they let him back in. JUst something about the bloke that doesn't sit right with me.

I could be wrong though He said if Labour got back in power in 97 he was offski as he wasn't paying a penny more in tax than he currently did. He went to live in Switzerland after the election, but Labour actually cut taxes for the rich.

I despise Hucknall for two reasons. At The Sex Pistols famed appearance in Manchester's Lesser Free Trade Hall (the gig that changed music), MANY said they were there (I didn't see them ) BUT there is photographic evidence of Mick Hucknall, Peter Hook (New Order) and Pete Shelley (Buzzcocks). Secondly, some live Clash footage shows him in the audience. He gets a begrudgingly nod of respect for both those from me.

Noel is hardly guitarist of the decade but he can write a popular tune so well done to him for that. Guitar wise he seems to like a lot of open distorted chords which most can master in about a month so he'll never be elevated to guitar legend in my book.
Meanwhile back on the vote, Brand, Cowell and Morgan emerge as frontrunners.

I think any guitarist who says other guitarists are not good are themselves not worth listening to tbh. They are all players at the end of the day.
Obviously we all have music we prefer to listen to but at the end of the day it's all music. Same with our TOTP reviews - what some like others don't but at the end of the day it's all music (even in the case of Leo Sayer!) and none of us have appeared on the show yet so well done to anyone who made it on there.
Thus, agreed Gallagher should just leave it out in public.
