It would very much be appreciated if forum users could show some respect in this part of the forum - set up exclusively for RIP/obituary threads. The fact is, a death is never easy for some people. Comments that state you don't know who a person is or you hated them may just be interpreted as either irrelevant, malicious or both by your fellow forum members. If you don't know who the person was, you are directed to any search engine to learn more (if you wish). If it's the latter perhaps letting silence be your judgement and saying nothing is enough to show you may not always have liked things this person did. However, this does not mean you can't be critical but if that's all you have to say then please tread carefully or don't do it at all - we are not in this section to incite a war of words among ourselves, so please THINK before you post.
No one (especially mods) wants a war on open forum. If you want to say something controversial you could try this gagged smiley and let this be enough: = SuppressedWhich means: "I hereby stop myself from going into more details about this terrible person on open forum in the interests of maintaining peace and harmony for ALL members on this forum" aka "there was more than meets the eye to this person and should you wish to know more, send me a PM and I'll tell you all about it privately rather than risk starting open warfare on public forum". In the spirit of respect for all who visit this forum, thus maintaining peace and harmony for EVERYONE here, thank you for reading this 'Good Spirit Guideline'. Please let this be a happy place. They may be only gravestones to you, but to a man of my years they're picture postcards from the grim reaper himself. A.E. Daley 'The Great Trilby'
