So sad to hear that the great actor/director has sadly passed away after a short illness. He made Spock so believable in 'Star Trek' and I have been a fan of his since the series debuted in 1969 in the UK.
RIP Mr Spock.

Nice to see him referred to as Mr Spock. Winds me up no end when called Dr Spock. Always the best character in Star Trek and NEVER up his own posterior like Shatner.

I was just about to post this sad news myself. www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/film/film-news/11440730/Star-Trek-actor-Leonard-Nimoy-dies-aged-83.htmlI remember watching Star Trek III: The Search For Spock in the cinema as a 10 year old with my parents while on holiday in Bournemouth. There was a seriously disabled man in the audience who was clearly very distressed that Mr Spock had gone missing in this film and he was really upset that he might not come back. Throughout the film he was crying "Mr Spooock!" "Mr Spooock!" as he clearly loved him. No one said a word to the man despite him interrupting the film for everyone else but this showed just how much love the chap had for Spock's character. A touching story that has stayed with me - I remember that happening more than the content of the film itself and is a reminder always to try and THINK about the reasons why people do things, keep cool and try to be nice to people despite them doing something that might be p*ssing you off in the present. Apart from Spock (who hasn't watched Star Trek?) he was course Paris in the later series of Mission Impossible. I remember him saying in an interview that his part was difficult to develop due to the lack of dialogue between characters inherent to the plot - they would spend most of the time building some gadget. His character replaced Rollin' Hand played by Martin Landau. Other than that I mostly remember him doing wacky talkover songs in the late 60s to try and earn an extra bit of wedge. These were Neil Connery quality - crazy nonsense to me but always good for a laugh. I have enjoyed his parts very much! RIP Leonard.

This is bad advice.... Alternately for more satisfying results, you can deploy your most vicious Vulcan nerve pinch to the culprits neck, until the said noises stop! > As for Mr Nimoy, I actually think he was quite under rated as a performer. I saw him in Invasion of the Body Snatchers ('78) about a week and a half ago (again) and he is very good in that.. He hits the note of his role perfectly! RIP sir. As way of mucho appreciation I will be listening to 'Spaced Out' my compilation audio compact disc of Nimoy's best songs!

I also remember him fronting a TV show called In Search Of... which showed episodes of mystery stuff like Bermuda Triangle, Loch Ness Monster and Easter Island. I think Time Tunnel was on before it as well. Essential viewing for a 14 year old.
