Another great episode. I'm back on them on ITV4 - now it's on without the early morning sign language Series 4 is better than I remember- despite watching many of these episodes, some more than others - this was better than I remember & don't think I've seen it for a few years. Chisholm was on fine form - "Oh dear,oh dear - the plot thickens".....😆 Chisholm is great in this episode

Watched today, a great episode, the ONLY implausible part is a gangsters mistress would NOT have slept with "the help". Great punch up at the end, Arthur clearly out of his depth with the professional insurer and a brilliant scene with a frightened Arthur and Mickey the Fish. ("I didn't get where I am today by having a little mug put one over on me.....know what I mean?") A 10/10 episode. ITV4 ruined it cutting out Dave ogling over Page 3 stunna, Corinne Russell. My all time favourite Sun model.

Two great lines, with Terry saying to himself "you haven't got 20 minutes in you" regarding Mickey seeing his mistress, and Arthur upon departing Richards office, "See you Dick"

Yeah, I rate this as excellent. Surprises me how early in series 4 this one actually was. Has the feel of a much later episode for some reason. Lovely Merc S class and very fine mistress, one of Terry's top dalliances.

I liked Mickeys threat to Arthur about cutting his fingers off and posting them to him. Then his toes! Mickey was a likeable gangster, well, I liked him!

Maybe it's that the locations were a bit more upmarket than in a usual series 4 episode, and the modern looking S class as well.

Locations is a good point, they certainly weren't as grimy and rundown as we saw in S1 & 2 but maybe London was changing as well with work being done updating and refurbing buildings. Between S3 & 4 Terry changed from a young Jack the lad to a more mature guy looking toward middle age imo. He'd also filled out a bit.

Watched this episode earlier. Dunno how many times I’ve seen it but it still makes me chuckle. Good story, characters and scenes. Like the bit when the law are all charging in at the snooker club towards the end when Chisholm instructs Jones to calm down and walk in.

Watched this episode on DVD last night (I'm currently watching the Dennis Waterman years in chronological order). I must say, Sheila Ruskin looked good in stockings and suspenders! No surprise that Terry ended up in bed with her! I wouldn't have said no to her! There's definitely something about her. She was very alluring in The Professionals episode 'Cry Wolf' too.

Back to back - a pair of crackers, Corinne Russell in the er, Evening Standard, and this and Senior Citizen Caine. Series 4 has hit the ground running so far.

Some fab lines from Arthur (About Terry to Mickey) " ..it may have made him a bit simple, but he ain't no tea-leaf.." To Chisholm "..I'm as clueless as you are..."

Couple of points to add to those already mentioned:
I love the scene when Arthur is sat in the booth in the Winchester trying to attract Terry’s attention, and then trying to persuade him to go along with the reward scam. Terry’s having none of it and the closing moment where Arthur pulls back the little curtain thing and shouts after him is magnificent. The look on his boat and his timing as he checks to see if anyone is earwigging and draws the curtain back is priceless.
Also like the scene with Mr Mandeville. Arthur begins the conversation all business like but when he gets on to the matter of the reward he forgets himself and slides back into dodgy patter ‘would said party cop for 10% of the value, or what?’ Lovely script and brilliantly delivered.
One of the very best episodes without doubt.

In the earlier episodes he had quite a mop which i suppose was 70s style. By series 4 nature may well have been taking it's course too, "We are receding a little aren't we Sir."

Dennis/Terry's hair seemed to have receded and thinned early on to a certain point and luckily for him stopped there. Don't think there was any outside inteference with it though.

A cracking episode, all the richer for having Chisholm involved IMHO. His dialogue about Arthur's teeth had me laughing out loud, as did "the plot sickens" and his comment about Lord Lucan having called at the station without Jones informing him. His condescending manner towards Arthur as he shepherded him towards the car lot office was also typical - "you don't want to get arrested in full view of the public, do you?". I also liked the way Chisholm declined the offer of a description of Arthur from the insurance broker.
Arthur's "fona bides" also made me laugh, as did his comment about Terry being able to involve himself in fisticuffs at a Buddhist picnic. The misunderstanding about ears at the insurance broker's office was also very funny.
Nice to see the Winchester well patronised for a change, and for Terry to finish a drink!
One thing that puzzled me was that Venables had abseiled down from Susie's flat - how would he have retrieved the tackle, especially in such a short space of time? The rope was looped round a chimney pot.
