Yes, I heard of his passing this afternoon. I don't know too much about them, but 'Do Anything You Wanna Do' is a bona fide classic.

Yes, it was a great hit single, influenced by and aligned with the emerging new wave. To take best advantage of this, they changed their name to 'The Rods' rather than use the early 60s-type moniker Eddie & The Hotrods.

Sadly, that’s another superb band I won’t be watching live. I’d missed Eddie & the Hot Rods a few times in recent years. RIP Barrie.

There was a local band back in the early 90s called 'The Concrete Geraniums' (a rip of The Stone roses) who did a brilliant version of this track.
An early age to go - RIP.
