Freddie had an incredibly long career of around 60 years. He was in over 200 TV series and films since 1960. He was a class act.
My favourite role of Freddie's was in 'Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed'. In lots of ITC shows as well.
A shame such a great character actor was reduced to appearing in garbage like 'Emmerdale'.
93 is a great age.
RIP

Always remember him as the British intelligence chief in Firefox. Not a great film but he's good in it. Would have made a fine George Smiley I think.

Yes he was good in many things and quite frankly I didn't realise he was in 'Emmerdale', which seems to be getting most of the media attention so far.
R.I.P. Freddie Jones.

I always knew Toby Jones had a Father who was an actor, but only discovered who it was yesterday.
Looking through his IMDB page I was surprised to see he never appeared in any of the holy trinity of shows.
Emmerdale is a big programme in the grand scheme of things so to still be a regular in his 90s was some going, fair play to him I say.
RIP Freddie

Looking through his IMDB page I was surprised to see he never appeared in any of the holy trinity of shows. Even more surprising given that he did appear in the notorious first series of Target.
Easy to imagine him as an acquaintance of Arthur's, posh-sort-gone-bad like the struck off accountant in Second Time Around.
Quality actor anyway.

Dai’s died! Superb character actor. In millions of stuff. To be honest I thought we’d have lost him before now.

He was in a lot of stuff over the years, always good. I was on a train in Oxford with him once. I didn't know he was ever in Emmerdale though but I stopped watching that years ago. His son has inherited his brilliant acting gene.
