He was in tons and tons of TV and Films. One of the most familiar faces on our screens of the 70s and 80s. Darn good actor as well.

He often seemed to play seedy, untrustworthy types (his bent copper in "Out" is a case in point) but was good in sympathetic roles as well: His honourable crook in "Villains" is worth a mention, as is his ageing outlaw in Robin of Sherwood - an idol with the proverbial feet of clay. Amazed he never turned up in The Sweeney or Minder.

Good actor who was memorable in every role he played. My mum was a big fan of his.
RIP Bryan

The film I always remember Bryan most for is 'The Spy Who Loved Me'. I have no idea why that is so.

Same here - I put it down to seeing him frequently on TV at the time and so it being no surprise to see his familiar face pop up in a Bond film.

The film I always remember Bryan most for is 'The Spy Who Loved Me'. I have no idea why that is so. I think he got that role because he played a Navy Commander in the BBC series 'Warship' the previous year. I remember him in the 1980 TV series 'Buccaneer' which also starred Shirley Anne Field, Pamela Salem and Clifford Rose. His character was called Tony Blair!

Didn't know about this. Very sorry to hear it.
R.I.P. Bryan Marshall.
ltd - from memory, I knew he hadn't been in 'The Sweeney', but wasn't sure about 'Minder'. As you say, you would expect him to be in them.

He was in The Chinese Detective (series 2) as a villain. One of his accomplices was the chauffeur blown up in The Long Good Friday.
