I don't know who drooled more back in the late 70's, me on the living room carpet laying down in awe when this show came on, or my dad behind me on his spot on the couch. All I know is I just lied in wait every week until she put on that Wonder Woman leotard outift. Between the outift and her rope that she lassoed people with, I bet this show did wonders for the S&M scene.
Aside from the plots having escaped my boyhood memory, I mainly recalled the invisible jet she flew in, and when she used her rope. I recently watched an episode, as it's airing here on a retro channel, and the show is actually pretty decent.
I remember when a girl who lived in my neighborhood revealed she was going to be Wonder Woman one Halloween. After I was hoping for the above costume, we had to settle for the one below. Made by Ben Cooper and available at drug stores everywhere. Homemade costumes were so much better back then. I later saw her sans any costume, so it all worked out in the end.
Tonight at 7pm on MeTv is Wonder Woman Meets Baroness Von Gunther. It was the first episode after the pilot and features a Nazi baroness. Apparently, it features a dust up between Wonder Woman and the Baroness, with the baroness tumbling down the hill in her skirt and black spiked heels. What a way to kick off the show! I've got the DvR set!
Other shows airing throughout the night tonight on MeTV: Star Trek, Buck Rogers, The Invaders, Lost In Space, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Land of the Giants, Time Tunnel, Planet of the Apes. Not a bad night of retro TV.
