On my quest to discover cool 70s US TV movies, I saw this one the other day - great stuff. So what's this one about - well, a computer system believes a nuclear reactor has been sabotaged and has to protect itself. The company uses its own investigative staff, Frank Brolen (William Devane) and Carl Wyche (Michael Brandon of Dempsey and Makepeace fame) to discover what is going on. However, the computer has a failsafe record, and it's even prepared to kill technicians to protect itself. Was it sabotaged and is there about to be a nuclear explosion wiping out half of North America? Time is ticking away and there is not long before the reactor explodes so can our two heroes save the country? Also overseeing event is Ralph Waite (aka John Walton senior) who plays the chief engineer in control of the system called Henry Stone. He is excellent in this and light years away from his typecast Walton persona.
8/10 - more enjoyable 70s US TV movie nonsense. Fantastic and William Devane is great in this as the no nonsense lead investigator willing to risk it all.
Sadly, this one is NOT out on DVD but is in the cellar archive collection.
