Fabled Liverpool FC hard man. Rock solid defender, never gave less than 100% for the shirt. Famously congratulated an opponent for a crunching tackle on his team mate Emlyn Hughes who he hated! Equally famous for kicking a football during a Liverpool Wembley final pre-match exhibition long after he'd stopped playing, and an Everton fan contacting the DSS as Tommy was declared disabled and claiming benefits. RIP Tommy, You'll Never Walk Alone

Absolute legend of the club and one of the hard men of 70’s football. Saw him do an after dinner speech once and the stories he told were hilarious.
RIP The Anfield Iron.

Saw Tommy Smith play when I was a kid and I was at his testimonial match. Was part of the team that won the European Cup in 1977, a great season. Sad news to hear he has died.

A proper fans favourite, the type of player who would run through walls for the cause, we could be done with a few more Tommy Smiths in todays game.
RIP Tommy

Before my time if I’m honest. So I never saw him play any full games. I am completely aware of who he was and what he brought to the game though.
RIP Tommy.
