Sadly he has died aged 82. Probably best known for playing Richard Bucket in 'Keeping Up Appearances'. Well known to DW fans for 1985's 'Revelation of the Daleks and 'Voyage of the Damned' in 2007.

He has a fair old list of credits on IMDB. I watched him in something a few weeks back, but for the life of me I cannot remember what, but was a face I knew but couldn't place.

He was in everything back in the 70s! If you watch those TV plays and Ghost Stories and stuff he was in loads. RIP Clive.

Absolutely stalwart British actor, as Arch says he was in everything. Gives Chisholm a rollicking in An Officer and Car Salesman.
I gather he had a pretty good stage career as well.

Very sad, a great actor. From an era when comedy was clean and fun. RIP Clive.

I gather he had a pretty good stage career as well. Very good in the ensemble cast of 'An officer and a Car Salesman' as the manager of the firm Charlie is working for.

Patience of a saint Richard Bucket , don't think I ever saw him put in a duff performance (and appeared in some quality productions too)
RIP Sir

RIP Clive Swift. He was great in Revelation of the Daleks. I remember him on the classic Alfred Hitchcock film Frenzy.

RIP. He played a classic character in Keeping up Appearances in my opinion, just that 80s looking bloke being calm and putting up with the wife in the show. Very formidable as I remember watching this. Really a shame knowing he's gone now.

Very sad to hear this I remember him appearing in a Hazell episode in which he was very good. He will of course always be best remembered as Richard Bucket a role he played to perfection. Below is an interview with both him and Patricia Routledge on Pebble Mill in 1993 you can see how fond they are of each other, I always think when two performers get on so well this transfers to the screen and helps you really believe in the characters (just like George Cole and Dennis Waterman).
RIP
