Thought I'd dedicate a thread to this long running Canadian comedy series. I think it's up to about series 12 now, with a movie and countless other feature length specials.
For those that haven't seen this, it's about a pair of petty criminals, Ricky & Julian, who are supposedly the subject of a documentary film making crew. So the documentary team follow 'our heroes' about their community, as they generally get high and drunk and get up to general mischief whilst trying to get by and stay out of jail.
Constantly committing moronic acts of crime in order to make money, they are always locking horns with authority figures like the police, and not least of all Jim Lahey, the trailer park's drunken supervisor and his cheeseburger addicted deputy, Randy.
Although filled with a great cast of characters (Bubbles, J-Roc, Cory & Trevor, Lucy & Sarah, Ray etc etc) ,the show could have been a puerile one trick pony, but this is a Canadian show and it is a very different breed to some 'stoner comedy' that might come out of America; even when considering a lack of moral judgement, combined with a certain degree of sentimentalism and overriding themes of family and friendship - coupled with its silly, foul mouthed characters of course.
So recently I put on the first TPB Christmas Special and as a result have ended up watching the whole lot again, right from the start.
I highly recommend this, it's well written and very funny.
