A great creator of children's TV. I loved how he had to explain and justify to the Japanese TV that Postman Pat, only had 3 fingers and WASN'T a member of the Japanese Yakuza (who sever their little finger as a sign of membership)

I think tattoos are usually the badge of membership.

Postman Pat still is a very popular figure in children's lives today. MIAS jnr was a big fan of the series when he was younger.
RIP John.

I was going to start a thread for him, but didn't know how well he would have been known. I loved Pat when it first came out, even though I was just turned 8, just something very warming about the characters in the show and the exploits of Pat and Jess travelling throughout Greendale in their little red van. I have a couple of first edition story books of Pat which are very different from the Pat stuff you pick up today. I also have the original series on DVD which I still watch an episode from time to time. He did some Rosie and Jim also which both my boys loved, along with Pat. RIP John
