Never realised he was a Jock, but remember him well from Dear John and also from an episode of Shoestring, but he certainly did loads of stuff over the years.
RIP

When Brian Hibbard of the Flying Pickets died, I had assumed that he was playing the Barry character in Monday Night Fever. They did look a little bit similar I guess. Certainly knew Brian Hibbard played 'Rabbit' in the Ray Daley episode Easy Rider anyway.
Remember Dear John, it was very popular around 85/86, and the Kirk character was a big part of the show's sucess.

Be great if someone repeated Dear John as a tribute. It's never repeated. Some months ago, it was advertised as being on Drama (!) but they showed Bread instead.
RIP

I also used to think it was him who played the character of Artie, in the Sweeney episode about the toy guns.

From the Comedy.co.uk site:
Loud, brash and regularly offensive, Kirk St. Moritz is a fantasist of extreme proportions. With a dress sense that wouldn't be out of place in Saturday Night Fever, an ego larger than Travolta's and a lack of tact or diplomacy to shock a newspaper editor, Kirk always makes his presence felt. He is madly in love with Kate, but has no idea how to show it...
Then there's Eric Maurice, a quiet, shy, unassuming 36-year old whose various hangups and childhood issues meant he never was able to talk to women. Eric was wowed by the sheer 'presence' felt in a nightclub, many years ago, when a supremely confident young man entered the room, and chose to reinvent himself, modelled on the cool stranger.

He also had an association with recently departed Trevor Preston, appearing as Billy Binns in "Out", and singing the various narrative numbers in "Fox". Like most of you I suspect, I remember him well as Kirk St Moritz. For all that Kirk whas a pathologic bullsh*tt*er you felt pleased for him when he finally came good and did his Superman act. Great comic acting.
