Parkin's Patch was a series about a village policeman, played by John Flanagan (later DS Matthews/Willard in The Sweeney). 26 half-an-hour episodes were made by Yorkshire TV over 1969-70. Parkin was assisted by Gareth Thomas as DC Ron Radley. Ian and Troy Kennedy Martin wrote some scripts (the latter under his 'Tony Marsh' pseudonym). Many future Sweeney and Minder guest stars appeared. The series may be a bit sedate for some's taste but I've found it decent tea time viewing on a day off.
Glynn appears in the 10th episode 'A Pair Of Good Shoes' broadcast on 21 November 1969. He plays the father of a girl, played by Pauline Collins, who claims she's been attacked one night. Glynn puts in his usual good performance and gets to do a passable Yorkshire accent.
A good array of guest stars include Robert Urquhart, Michael Robbins, Madge Ryan, John Sharp, Ray Smith, Tony Caunter, Rosalie Crutchley, David Lodge, Warren Clarke, Ronald Lacey, Harry Towb, George A Cooper, Joe Gladwin, William Russell, Tony Beckley, Sharon Duce, Norman Eshley, Kevin Stoney, Bill Fraser, David Daker, William Lucas, Del Henney, Glyn Owen, Michael Elphick and Peter Sallis.
