What?! No way! Jim's gone. This news is neither great, smashing nor super.
RIP Bullseye forever. Tragic.

There’s an image I’ll have difficulty in shaking....
RIP Jim - Bullseye was a fixture on Sunday afternoons in our house.

The last time I saw Jim on TV he was looking very frail indeed.
TV personality and comic favourite for 20 years. Seemed like a great bloke.
RIP Jim and good luck with Bully's Prize Board up there now.

Stephen Hawking and Jim Bowen on the same day! In true Bullseye style, the non dart player went first.

Stephen Hawking and Jim Bowen on the same day! In true Bullseye style, the non dart player went first. I think Jim would have approved of that Ace. Some of the great quotes and catchphrases of "Bullseye" with Jim Bowen. The show always started with the cry of, "It's a bulllllseye! And here's your host - Jiiiim Bowen!" "Stay out of the black and into the red, Nothing in this game for two in a bed." "Look at what you could have won." "And Bully's Special Priiiiize..." "Now the cash you won for charity earlier... that's safe." "Super, smashing, great." "Iiiiiiin one..." "You win nothing but your BFH... Bus Fare Home" (into the ad break) "I've got £___ here and it'll take me two minutes to count out." "All for the throw of a dart" "Go for your lights" (in the prize board round - although this changed after a while. In other series, the lights represented what they had won) "You've got the time it takes for the board to revolve..." "Up to the oche - and listen to Tony!" "You can't beat a bit of Bully!" "Bully's bellowed you out there!" "The subjects that are lit are the ones you can hit!"

Seriously, Jim did seem a good bloke who wanted contestants to do well. Old school working class. RIP Jim

Another sad loss , obviously best remembered for Bullseye but lets not forget that he was a polished comic as his time on The Comedians would amply prove.

I was sad when I heard this news.
Bullseye was essential Sunday afternoon viewing in my house and possibly most other council estates from Lands End to John O'Groats.
RIP Jim.

Also a pretty decent actor - he's good in Muck 'n' Brass as the hapless building society manager who isn't quite as clever as he thinks he is. Also remember his impressivley dead pan performance in Phoenix Nights sporting a marmalade coloured wig.

What can I say? Chez Leek has gone into meltdown. Curtains closed all day and I fear coming out until the series is revived.
All very sad. Sunday afternoons will never be the same again.

Nice of Sky to mention Jim Bowen and Peter Wright having a picture of Bully inked on the side of his head at last night's Darts Premier League.

R.I.P. Jim Bowen.
I probably listened to the Radio One top 40 when 'Bullseye' was on TV.
Nevertheless I do remember it and Jim's oft-quoted catchphrases - IIRC Steve Wright's posse used to do impressions of him.
