A superb Argentinian composer who's prolific body of work started way back in the 50s.
Of course his influences on me come mostly by way of crime thrillers and spaghetti westerns, but he did so many scores for so many movies you can't really nail him down to one genre.
His probably most recognised scores are for some of the spaghetti western tracks he composed, which were then nicked and used in popular American movies like Kill Bill and Django Unchained, and of course he won an oscar for Il Postino. A contemporary of folk like Franco Micalizzi and Ennio Morricone. Bacalov was considered an expert pianist and as good as anyone out there.
