I'm very sorry to see that little Charlie Gard has lost his fight for life. I can't help feeling that if his parents had been allowed to take action earlier and the legal wrangling that took up half the little lad's life could have been avoided he might have had some sort of chance. The outcome really doesn't reflect well on the NHS in general, Great Ormond Street in particular or the British judicial system. No one knows what might have happened but the outcome certainly couldn't have been any worse if they had been allowed to take him to the US earlier in the year. RIP Charlie.

A truly sad tale. Hard to imagine how the parents must be feeling.
RIP

Very sad for the poor mite, but the media circus it became was tedious. The world famous Great Ormand Street Hospital has had its excellent reputation sullied unfairly. The parents were given false hope by people who had no right interfering, which prolonged the agony. All very sad, but I expect a compo claim will be forthcoming now, which is how sad this has all become. No debates please, it's just my opinion. Just remember how poor Bradley Lowery and his parents behaved in the spotlight. A huge difference.

This is sad news. I must confess I did contribute to the parents' campaign. I am a big believer in if technology is available and money is there, to try things out. This week the UK was told all electric cars by 2040, who knows what the future would have held for him in terms of technology - I can totally understand his parents wanting to explore every possible avenue for their son who is unable to defend himself. We all evolve, who knows what the future holds for any of us, but technological advancement was certainly on Charlie's side and I honestly think if young kids cannot defned themselves, someone older has that responsibility.
A truly sad tale is Charlie Gard. RIP young man.
