The legendary horror movie director has sadly passed away.
He made some truly influential movies:
Night of the Living Dead Dawn of the Dead Day of the Dead The Crazies Martin
RIP George.

He probably was one of the most influential directors of horror cinema ever. He put Zombies (and Pittsburgh) on the map as far as movies are concerned.
Seriously, hats off.
RIP Mr Romero.

I live near Evans City Pennsylvania where the original Night of the Living Dead and The Crazies were filmed. Parts of The Crazies were filmed at the high school I attended about ten years later. I always found that appropriate!

100%
As is Dawn of the Dead.
Never liked Martin much but I find The Dark Half totally underrated. It's hardly groundbreaking but it's a decent little film. Similar to movies like The Crazies. Just fab entertainment.

The original b&w 'Night Of The Living Dead' (1968) is not so much graphic, or even schlock, horror. But it is one of the most sinister films I have seen.
Like all good B-movies, it has that mix of acting & directing that ranges from good to poor.
But the whole film is edge of your seat stuff - nervy and compelling.
R.I.P. George A Romero.

I dunno I think if you compare it to what was being shown at the time it really is quite graphic and violent.

NOTLD was like nothing else around in 1968. Romero totally changed the future of horror cinema.

Just fab entertainment. I liked the Dark Half - much better than the book which I got halfway through and couldn't finish. I quite liked Martin as well.
