Revisited this minor classic yesterday. Jack Dee isn't someone I find funny as stand up, but in this he's very good. The surly au pair, Magda is worth watching for alone. The teenage son is also excellent.
I thought this was an excellent sit com. Jack Dee plays a thoroughly miserable comedian whose life is made more difficult by all the people around him. His wife is very well played by an actress whose name I forget but whose character would be described as longsuffering. All the recurring parts are excellent. Magda is especially good, partly because she is the only person more miserable than him.
