It's been over Twitter this morning. I was just waiting for a news source. I was only watching Goodbye Sailor last night. He's a good villain in The Professionals "It's Only A Beautiful Picture" even if that isn't a great episode. People have been saying that he was a lovely man

Sad news, I have enjoyed watching Moray Watson, in many TV programmes, Goodbye Sailor (in which Moray, played Commander Hawksly), is one of my favourite Minder episodes.
Moray Watson, also appeared with Dennis Waterman, in an episode of Stay Lucky, and one of my favourite Peter Davison Doctor Who stories - Black Orchid (1982).
R.I.P. Moray Watson.

Moray's career started with the BBC production of 'The Quatermass Experiment' in 1953. He was constantly in work for the next 60 years. An amazing CV.

Superb actor, played George Frobisher in the Rumpole TV series which is one of my all time favourites.
A very good age, but still sad news, but what an acting legacy to leave behind.

I didn't recognize the name but his face is certainly familiar. A fine character actor with a long career. Rest In Peace.

I missed the sad news that Moray Watson had died. He was successful on both sides of the law (so to speak) as the apparently upright but excedingly dodgy Commander Hawksley in Minder and as Rumpole's old friend George Frobisher in Rumpole of the Bailey. I remember an episode just after he was made a "circus judge" (as Rumpole called Circuit Judges) in which he 'potted' Rumpole's client.
